Today’s shared services and GBS organizations are expected to use technology – whether RPA, visualization tools, analytics, or advanced AI – to support their enterprise’s competitive goals. But developing the talent strategy to successfully satisfy the business’ technology-supported agendas can be extremely challenging. This panel of executives will discuss how they identified their organization’s new talent needs, developed their new strategy, and how they’re tying it their organization’s value proposition.
Moderator:
Gianni Giacomelli, Chief Innovation Leader, Genpact, and Head of Design, MIT Collective Intelligence Design Lab
CASE STUDY: This Isn’t Your Grandfather’s Workforce Planning
10 years ago, shared services organizations’ workforce planning activities centered around talent with the sector and function knowledge to get the job done. But the game has completely changed. During this session, you’ll learn how the leader of a top GBS organization evolved the group’s workforce planning program from tactical to strategic, from “bodies” to “value contributors.”
Practical Ways to Make Sure You Have the Talent You Really Need
Talent gaps, surpluses, and different skill set requirements per geography…these are pain points every evolving and growing GBS or shared services organization has to content with. How do you figure out the best path forward? This session will provide you with real-world insights, facts, and decision-making frameworks to make the right decisions to deliver ongoing success.
PANEL: Building Leaders for a Digital, Post-Millennial World
Most of today’s shared services and GBS organization leaders are Baby Boomers or Gen Xers. To varying degrees of success, they’ve addressed the idealistic, purpose-focused orientation characteristic of Millennial generation workers. But Generation Z employees – meaning those born in the mid-1990s to mid-2000s – are on the verge of entering the workforce. And their motivations are dramatically different. During this session, several GBS and shared services leaders will share how they’re preparing to support this new generation of workers, and what it takes to lead them.
Innovative Talent Practices: Brainstorm with Your Peers!
To get your energy pumping and creative juices flowing during this last session of the day, you’ll break down into facilitated small groups to share how you’re approaching recruiting, training, onboarding, retention, cross-functional collaboration, and more. We’ll be recapping all the shared ideas, so you’ll walk away with the entire group’s best practices on how to address multiple aspects of the talent conundrum!
