Learn the basic principles of how to approach\, analyze\, and ap preciate great works of art the way an artist would. Included are discussi ons on viewing art as both a physical object and the expression of an idea \, art in the context of its time\, and the elements of composition.
\n \nFree Fridays at the Whitney will never be th e same. You&rsquo\;ll leave this lecture with the vocabulary\, framework a nd tools to have better things to say when you look at art.
\n\nGene Wisniewski received his art education at Rutge rs University\, the New York Academy of Art\, The National Academy of Desi gn\, The New School\, and L&rsquo\;Ecole Albert Defois in Vihiers\, France . He has exhibited in galleries nationwide\, including New York\, Los Ange les\, and Chicago\, and has eighteen years&rsquo\; experience teaching and lecturing on visual art. His short stories have appeared in \;Exq uisite Corpse\, \;the literary magazine of Louisiana State Univer sity\, Satellite magazine\, and other publications. His book \;The Art of Looking at Art \;is scheduled to be released in May of 20 20. He is currently working on screenplay adaptions based on two of his pu blished short stories.
