s Needing Cross-Training to L&\;D\, Individuals planning to take NCC&rs
quo\;s\, EFM Subspecialty Certification exam. This CME Conference has been
approved for a maximum of 13.8 Hours.
\n
\nConference Descri
ption :
\nThis seminar includes time for test preparation. This c
ourse incorporates NICHD terminology\, thoroughly reviews fetal physiology
\, acid-base concepts\, management of FHR patterns\, and has key elements
to update and validate your clinical knowledge base in EFM. Didactic conte
nt appropriate for preparation for both the National Certification Corpora
tion (NCC) subspecialty certification exam (available at class site second
afternoon) and the Perinatal Quality Foundation Fetal Monitor Credentiali
ng (FMC) exam.
\n
\nThis course has key elements to update and v
alidate your clinical knowledge base in EFM and prepare for the NCC EFM su
bspecialty certification Exam. The new NICHD\, AWHONN\, ACOG\, and ACNM fe
tal monitoring standards and guidelines are presented. On-site paper-penci
l NCC EFM exam available to those individuals who have applied and been ac
cepted as an NCC exam candidate. \;
\n
\nConference Objec
tives are :
\n&bull\; Demonstrate knowledge of EFM equipment for
external and internal FH and UC monitoring.
\n&bull\; Understand the
physiology of labor\, maternal and fetal physiology\, and the impact of la
bor on maternal and fetal systems.
\n&bull\; Identify fetal oxygenati
on needs\, mechanical and pharmacological factors influencing fetal oxygen
ation.
\n&bull\; Recognize EFM elements consistent with normoxia and
possible evolving metabolic acidemia\, noting interventions for each.
\n&bull\; Describe a variety of fetal assessment methods for antepartal a
nd intrapartal evaluation of fetal status.
\n&bull\; Define and recog
nize elements of EFM tracing including FHR baseline\, variability\, accele
rations\, decelerations\; and uterine contraction characteristics using st
andard NICHD nomenclature.
\n&bull\; Discern abnormal FHR tracings re
lative to dysrhythmias.
\n&bull\; Recognize common perinatal complica
tions\, noting both maternal and fetal responses.
\n&bull\; Evaluate
interventions and modify the plan of care.
