Greetings!

The Annual Middle East Conference will be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates from October 6-8, 2017. Interested delegates are requested to submit their research abstracts between 250 to 300 words. The 2017 edition of the conference is aimed at addressing a very important theme on, ‘Financing for Development’ – which is absolutely crucial for the growth and overall development of an economy.

All submitted papers will undergo a blind review process which will be based on quality, original contribution, novelty and relevance to social needs. Proposals for poster presentations are also invited.

The upcoming conference is being jointly organized by Global Business Research Journals (GBRJ), Greater Vision Conferences & Seminars, Dubai-UAE and SDMIMD, a prestigious management school functioning in Mysore, Karnataka State-India.

Financing for Development! A must for progress!!

Economic growth and development of a country depends on several factors. Among them, availability of natural resources, human resources, capital formation, modern technology and socio-political factors play a crucial role in sound economic growth and nation building. But, timely availability of sufficient funds plays a pivotal role in ensuring the availability of all the above factors.

Monetary Consensus

Even the Monetary Consensus document published and adopted by the United Nations (2002 Monetary Conference) has become the reference document for international development and cooperation. The UN document embraces six areas of ‘financing for development’ which are as follows:

  • Mobilizing domestic financial resources for development;
  • Mobilizing international resources for development; foreign direct investment and other private flows;
  • International trade as an engine for development;
  • Increasing international financial and technical cooperation for development;
  • External debt; and
  • Addressing systemic issues; enhancing the coherence and consistency of the international monetary, financial and trading system in support of development.

Economists argue that the developmental initiatives should promote a comprehensive and integrated development in order to ensure sustainable development around the world. It also includes i) mobilizing domestic resources i.e., tax collection ii) international funding resources iii) contribution of private sector to national development iv) increasing trade and services in order to create more jobs and sustainable economic growth.
