In this fast paced workshop, students will explore a variety of ways to draw two dimensionally and three dimensionally in glass. The class will have an optional visit to the Brooklyn Museum on the Thursday evening prior, looking for inspiration, and researching and recording an array of mark making. Upon entering the studio on Saturday, the class will utilize a variety of techniques to translate their drawings into glass. Blowing, solid sculpting, kiln forming, cold working, and lamp working will be included in the curriculum. A multitude of different objects will be completed within the workshop. Beginning glassblowing skills are helpful but not necessary.
This class is being offered as part of our 40 for 40 series, a celebration of the 40th anniversary of UrbanGlass.
