Conference Summary

Electronic Fetal Monitoring Review conference is organized by Professional Education Center (PEC) and will be held during Sep 24 - 25, 2020 at Sheraton LaGuardia East Hotel, Flushing, New York, United States of America.

The target audience for this medical event is Labor & Delivery & LDRP Nurses, Advanced Practice Nurses, Nurse Midwives, Physicians, PAs, Nurses Needing Cross-Training to L&D, Individuals planning to take NCC’s, EFM Subspecialty Certification exam. This CME Conference has been approved for a maximum of 13.8 Hours.

Conference Description :
This seminar includes time for test preparation. This course incorporates NICHD terminology, thoroughly reviews fetal physiology, acid-base concepts, management of FHR patterns, and has key elements to update and validate your clinical knowledge base in EFM. Didactic content appropriate for preparation for both the National Certification Corporation (NCC) subspecialty certification exam (available at class site second afternoon) and the Perinatal Quality Foundation Fetal Monitor Credentialing (FMC) exam.

This course has key elements to update and validate your clinical knowledge base in EFM and prepare for the NCC EFM subspecialty certification Exam. The new NICHD, AWHONN, ACOG, and ACNM fetal monitoring standards and guidelines are presented. On-site paper-pencil NCC EFM exam available to those individuals who have applied and been accepted as an NCC exam candidate. 

Conference Objectives are :
• Demonstrate knowledge of EFM equipment for external and internal FH and UC monitoring.
• Understand the physiology of labor, maternal and fetal physiology, and the impact of labor on maternal and fetal systems.
• Identify fetal oxygenation needs, mechanical and pharmacological factors influencing fetal oxygenation.
• Recognize EFM elements consistent with normoxia and possible evolving metabolic acidemia, noting interventions for each.
• Describe a variety of fetal assessment methods for antepartal and intrapartal evaluation of fetal status.
• Define and recognize elements of EFM tracing including FHR baseline, variability, accelerations, decelerations; and uterine contraction characteristics using standard NICHD nomenclature.
• Discern abnormal FHR tracings relative to dysrhythmias.
• Recognize common perinatal complications, noting both maternal and fetal responses.
• Evaluate interventions and modify the plan of care.
• Apply current standards of practice, documentation essentials and legal principles relative to electronic fetal Monitoring.
